Overview
The Prototype continues the narrative universe of our sci-fi short film, following a sentient construct awakening to purpose. The visual language blends neon-noir futurism with industrial realism—switching between lab confines, rain-slick streets, and kinetic chase imagery as the music surges from minimal pulses to soaring hooks.
Concept: Show the moment a prototype becomes self-directed—breaking feedback loops, escaping control systems, and choosing its own trajectory. The video contrasts clinical “build” sequences with visceral movement and light.
Planning: We locked a motif of white-room assembly, anamorphic city plates, and transformation beats. AI look-dev was iterated to keep the lead’s silhouette, suit tech, and light temperature consistent across scenes, with storyboard anchors for in/out frames to aid transitions.
Tools Used: A cohesive AI + editorial pipeline for continuity and rhythm:

- Midjourney / Kling AI / VEO (Image & video generation)
- HeyGen (Lip sync & micro-performance)
- Adobe Photoshop (Keyframe paint, plate prep)

- Suno (Vocal stems / alt takes)
- ElevenLabs (VO textures / interstitial cues)
Challenges
The goal was a cinematic arc rather than an AI montage—consistent character/lighting, precise sync, and transitions that carry story momentum between lab and alternate worlds.
Character Continuity
- Challenge: Keep the prototype’s face, suit details, and hair consistent across varied scenes.
- Solution: OmniReference + palette constraints, locked camera notes, and selective frame paint-backs.
Lip Sync & Motion Timing
- Challenge: Align micro-expressions and performance beats to vocal phrasing and BPM shifts.
- Solution: HeyGen sync passes, syllable nudge edits, and deliberate breath holds for realism.
Cohesive Transitions
- Challenge: Avoid hard scene jumps between sterile lab and chaotic alternate realms.
- Solution: Designed in/out anchor frames, match-action cuts, light-wipe motifs, and motion-vector blends.
Lighting & Color Harmony
- Challenge: Maintain unified key/fill direction and color temp across generated footage.
- Solution: Locked LUT targets and prompt lighting descriptors; final pass grade to a common contrast curve.
Results/Conclusion:
